#329167 Evo 10 inner rear axle CV cups

Posted by JayRome on 16 April 2016 - 07:37 AM

I could machine a few more conversion cups for 3 bolt to LSD like I made for mine, but no free time...

Still testing how much torque they will take...

#325162 Exhaust manifold flange - EVO1-3 same as E4+?

Posted by JayRome on 02 December 2015 - 10:23 AM

VR4-Evo9 same exhaust mani flange for custom work (VR4 needs some slight trimming near power steering mount)

Vr4 have all M8 studs

Evo1-3 (unsure)

Evo4-9 Have 2xM10 outer studs and the rest are M8

Intake manifolds have the same stud pattern:

Vr4 big port

Evo1-3 small port

Evo4-9 is mirror image of the evo1-3 small port plus injector holders (bosses what ever you call them)...

Evo4-6 mani has less vac ports over the Evo7-9

Evo7 mani has MAP sensor active (evo8-9 have the holder but no hole)

You can mix and match all the above with a little bit of welding......

If making custom exhaust manifold, use min 12mm flange plate material..

Oooh you bastard, I've been looking for the hks silent for ages, if I didn't need you to weld it on for me, I'd almost think about knicking that off ya, lol,
but we both know I only use mufflers for rwc's
and I was just looking at these vertex style diffusers, shippings a killer though being from malaysia

Hahahah its for sale if you want it bro :P

you could just make a diffuser....

#321797 Evo 6, 7 or 8? First proper turbo car.

Posted by JayRome on 04 September 2015 - 01:57 AM

E5-9 are all TD05HR 16G rear end housing change (evo9 gets a bigger front housing)

E7 GTA runs 9.0 rear (auto gear box)

E7-8 (excludes MR) runs 9.8 rear

E7RS runs 9.8 rear with Titanium/Aluminium front 16G wheel (great spool characteristics)

E5-6 (includes 8MR and E9) have a bigger rear with 10.5, which accounts to a few hundred rpms worth of lag (but a tad better top end)

Late model E6.5 share the same rods with the 7 (revised for lightweight design, then changed again for strength evo8-9)

If you can find a fully optioned Evo5 RS..... would probably be the best package in my book, out right drivers car (or an evo 3)...

#317091 Inlet manifold swap pros/cons

Posted by JayRome on 07 May 2015 - 12:12 AM

If you were going to go to a sheet metal intake, i'd get one made specifically for your engine and desired power band as it can be calculated: Chamber volume/runner length/runner size/etc....

Most ebay manifolds aren't great, they are a copy of someone else designs and expect them to "work the same" as the original..

But since your setup is in a RWD, it might be a tad easier for you to use another intake thats not stock...

Its looking fine so far, been using it everyday and nothings fallen off.

Update:

Reverting back to factory type turbo

Evo7 RS TD05HRA 16G6 9.8T (Ti-Al front wheel, max power approx 220kw ATW on 98)

Good for very quick spool, i'll loose top end power but gain a lot of midrange which is better on the street compared to my current TD06...

We need to find a place that will combine Karting and Paintball.

So we can shoot at the winner at the end? Perfect!!
