Driveshaft issues

05 July 2013 - 01:32 AM

Hey guys I have just got the car back together and have it on the road for the first time since buying it a while back.

It drives good except the driveshaft sounds very clunky and vibrates. I have put new mounting rubbers on it but it seems the driveshaft hangers still have movement in them.

Has anyone seen this before?

Head work

04 May 2013 - 09:06 AM

Hey guys I was thinking about doing some head work on my Jspec . I have a new gt3540 waiting to be bolted on also have a link g4 .

The head was off and all measurements checked 2000 kms ago . Replaced valve stem seals at the same time .

But it's time to get this thing flowing . Can anyone recommend a good cam , spring, retainer , lifter combo ?

Hey guys I have just comeback from Nz and while I was there I managed to pick up a new genuine Garrett bb gt35 turbo with a .70 housing for a an absolute song !!!! $800 Aus dollars . My question is can this turbo be run with the standard radiator clearance space and if so what manifold would be recommended .

Nemo appears next door !!

22 March 2013 - 10:31 AM

I was out working on the old vr4 this arvo and was chatting to the new Tennant that had moved into the shed next to mine . Turns out they are a race team that races porches . They also happened to mention they had nemo living in the shop . So we went and checked it out . Has no motor at the moment as its motor was in very bad shape when it won time attack . They only had two test runs and both times the motor died at qr . So they repaired and took to Sydney anyway .
The body work is nuts . One if the drivers told me it sticks to the road far better than any of the ten porches

Time attack

19 February 2013 - 10:18 AM

Well I think it's about time I stuck the old 1988 vr4 on the track and time attack looks fun . I just fitted some bc coilovers , now I have to upgrade the brakes . How will my standard Jspec brakes handle the track ? If I buy some good pads and slotted discs will that do the trick ? Any advice appreciated
