Forgot to mention mate.
If you send you ecu to me I could flash it with basic tune and imobiliser disabled too. :)
This will keep your car out of your garage until you get the cables sorted out.
It will cost you what ever is postage to Sydney and back.

Get a 2nd hand pinion planetary & I can weld it for you. I have 5 sets of the other planetary sets (3 inside the 4) in stock already welded.
Strength is fixable no prob. Slippage is a big deal with these as well. 3 clutch packs need plates modified like mine.
Also I have 9 kevlar clutches in mine. Why just make it stronger & put up with a bending/slipping box.
Going forged early this year to run 30-35psi to test my box. Then I'll know if it slips or breaks.

Getting haltec with flexifuel? That means e85 tune?

You better get yourself at least triple size injectors to what you've got at the moment ;)
With injectors, you can't go wrong going bigger ;)

True, I have the grimmspeed one in my 5 and was gunna use the same in the rvr, is the meek one around the same price?

It is if not under depending where you're getting grimmspeed from. Call Meek and he can custom make the length of wiring to suit your setup too.

I had a few test runs today too. Nothing major but I found that the car would start jerking a bit if pushed hard at around 3000-4000 rpms. Same symptoms I had when I used stock spark plugs so I had to go with colder 8's and it cured the issue.
Now, e85 cools down the combustion so it shouldn't be spark plugs so I went and advanced the timing for spool up and after that my problem was gone :D

You gotta love the fuel that asks for more timing and boost plus a bit leaner afr's

E85 in. Transition was easy. No issues whatsoever. Now to start tuning when I have some spare time.

I'm loving the smell of it. :D

Rev gauge shouldn't go up if the car doesn't accelerate unless the clutch is slipping.
With aircon on if you hit it fully open throttle ECU turns of aircon at certain load so there shouldn't be any power lost.

Evo 7 ecu, it's got the rom files in xml format, and I've set the path to them, I also tried copying them into a new file with just the stuff I need, It's giving me time to read the rest of the merlins guide so once I'm all set up then I can dive straight in, it's just trying to get set up that's slowing me down

Make sure you also have evo7 base xml beside the one for your rom.

^ so what does the switch do? Hold light comes on in the cluster but I havnt really driven it enough to play around yet.


HSG doesn't have pwr/eco switch, only HOLD and it actually holds the gears if you select manually from 1 to D or if left in drive with it switched, car takes of in second and into 4th being made for snow conditions where you don't want too much torque for wheels to spin.

Nah man, stock trans.
Yeah I don't like the auto. I've driven plenty of other automatic cars. These ones just seem to take forever to get moving. My last auto RVR was the same.
I'd imagine with a higher stall RPM, it would be even worse.
Each to their own I guess, I'd prefer manual anyday but I don't go drag racing much, which it seems is all this auto is good for.

As i said, tcu dual chip means two maps written onto eprom and switch connected so you can flick the switch to change between two tunes for tcu.
Tune includes upshift and downshift as desired and also line pressure.
It is all tuned to suit your driving requirements so if you want wot gear change at 8000rpm or any other rpm can be achieved and set per 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th as separate tune.
everything works as a 2D graph and throttle % vs speed is used to determine when the change will happen.
As you know, stock line pressure is a lot higher at high rpm then low but it can be increased again as throttle % vs speed.

All this is tested on Aldo's rvr and working fine.

Would this cause a violent vibration that is rotational? the vinration im chasing is there for a second then gone then there then gone but its only there if im in gear .... if i put the clutch in then the noise goes


This proofs what Clutz said. Had the same problem on my Vr4.
