#242460 Clutch fork and pivot ball

Posted by evo-gsr on 02 October 2011 - 12:52 AM

Yep I agree with the above....$400 is about the going rate for remove and replace on an Evo/Gsr over here too....
So easy to do yourself but...Pay the $100 for the tow and save yourself $300 by doing it yourself at home with all the right tools.

I agree...just drive it to somewhere where you have all the right gear to do it..just gonna be a shit fight otherwise...will be much easier to do it by removing box and engine too.

#242331 Is my td05h oil cooled or water?

Posted by evo-gsr on 30 September 2011 - 01:25 PM

That would be why we are advising to use the correct hose......................................

Dont think all the "Pulls" you mention in your other thread, racing Skylines would have anything to do with that aye??

Awesome way to attract attention and get defected if you ask me..........

#242314 Is my td05h oil cooled or water?

Are you serious   Garden hose??? I would not recommend using that, thats for sure....unless your using to give yourself an ENIMA (see link below)
You need a decent rubber hose specifically for pressurised water and a good set of clamps to go with it- sold at any good auto supplies shop( not Kmart or Supercheap   )

#242312 Driveshaft Carrier Bearing Issue

Posted by evo-gsr on 30 September 2011 - 12:24 PM

Turns out I had A VR4 carrier on the Evo motor....Which bolts into different hole on the block...so I have now switched to an Evo carrier which only uses the hole which I extracted bolt from and the hole closer to timing cover so Didnt bother trying to get the other out....The reason the bolts snapped was because ONE of the bolts must have bottomed out due to the step in the VR4 carrier and the other one which I got out was only JUST reaching thru the carrier so had fuck all thread in the block.....Pictures will explain what Im on about......

#242183 Driveshaft Carrier Bearing Issue

Posted by evo-gsr on 29 September 2011 - 09:40 AM

It had the correct bolts in it I assure you...They werent just any old bolt...
As i posted above, there is no thread hanging out unfortunately, so the above idea is not going to happen either....Thanks anyway..
I managed to get one out quite easily with the Ezy Out method but while trying to get the second one out the poofter Ezy Out has just snapped off in the hole I drilled in the remaining bastard bolt so now Im fucked....And extremely pissed off with the whole shit fight.
Looks like my long weekend will be spent removing the motor to drill the arsehole of a thing out and tap a new thread...
Not happy.

This is what it looked like before I Fucked it all up.....
