#329841 Cause I'm not bright and need a direct answer

Ahh good ol Roger still around? Haha
I wonder if he's still rocking the radiator charge air cooler. I thought that was a game changer personally.

Dave I wasn't aiming it at all newbies, we all started somewhere. Just that there seems to be a sense of entitlement and lack of respect /appreciation among many of the newcomers. Compared to many other car forums, the older generation (vehicle age) mitsi guys seem to be the most genuine and willing to help. There are some well seasoned lads with very practicable knowledge among them. It sucks to see their time being wasted on futile e-battles with idiots. They'll naturally then tend to care less about advising others, which was originally driven by a common passion that has since been trampled on by egotistic shitheads.

Nobody cares that you might not have anything tangible to offer in return, just courtesy.

Sweet mate, hit me up if you're swinging past.
No formal company afaik. Just another chap like you doing in his spare time. I'll get some pics for you.
Tbh for the quantity you'll sell you're right, it's probably not worth your time.
Do you draw these up in solid works or something?

Dude these look sweet!
I've vr4 rear subframe, mustache and front subframe bushes (I think) which you can copy from like you did with the engine mounts if you want Lars.

I want a full PU bush kit for my CC GSR. Anyone know where to get all the bits?

#326889 Cyclone Intake Manifold Clean and Rebuild

Posted by MDK87 on 19 January 2016 - 11:39 PM

How much more power Mike? Did you do back to back dyno testing of an aus spec ECIMulti vs Cyclone?

I've been scouring the net for the last week looking for info to see if anyone has done any comparative dyno testing. I was thinking to do it myself but I cbf taking that chunky ass Cyclone off. If you have some dyno results with only the manifold changed between runs that would be epic..!

I was going to swap mine out for an aus spec manifold but I think I'll try tinkering with the Cyclone before discarding it. I prefer low rpm response over high rpm peaks.

Mike, what do you think the best way of switching it would be? RPM vs MAP? Using the stock vacuum actuator, you can set it to whatever RPM you wish. Ultimately I think the best way would be to do two dyno runs with the runners fully opened and closed, and base the switchover point to where the torque curves cross over.

Though by the same token, if using a wastegate actuator, the runners will be switched over only once positive pressure has built up in the manifold, and you'd assume that once forced induction comes into play, a long high velocity air route wouldn't really play much of a part in volumetric efficiency and the higher spring tension and/or options to use a flow control valve would offer progressive transition of the butterfly valves?

Opinions? I'm leaning towards the former, you can't argue with results, but it would be nice to hear from people that have more experience with them.

Also Dre I believe the gaskets are steel. Nigel pulled one apart the other day and said so.

Here you go. The bloke reckons there was a lot in it - http://www.dsmtuners...-ported.302154/

EDIT: Sorry to hijack the thread, but I thought you might benefit from knowing too Dre. Otherwise, feel free to PM me Mike - cheers!

#323159 I broke my baby, but now all fixed :-D

Posted by MDK87 on 10 October 2015 - 01:07 PM

I get what ya mean by 'doing it while ya there' or 'while its apart' - thinks its called "getting old" lol
Keep at it man cos it'll be worth it when ya get reacquainted with the boost

All mine needed was new brake pads in January. It has since been put up on stands and pulled apart, now waiting on new manifold/turbo/dump, bigger brakes, some of these brace things, suspension, LSD, various bushes, 4WS delete, intercooler etc etc.. So I bought another VR4 to get around in. Lol

#322122 Benzo's new ride

It is the OBD to USB comms cable which is necessary if you plan to make any changes to the memory (i.e use it for what it was intended). You need it if you don't already have one Lars.

Nice job Ben! The interior is looking much better.
When are you going to put that 60mm turbo on? :)

Lol Lars, come help me do it and I won't have an excuse. :P

As in an air cooler Jack? From stock it has a line that passes through the bottom tank of the radiator.

Does brake stalling wreck the trans?
