Hi mate.

There are 2 weight limits you need to look for, for example we bought a roof top tent for our Pajero, the roof rails are only rated to a dynamic (driving) weight of 60kg which is fine for a roof top tent alone, the static weight is substantially more so obviously you can sleep a couple of people in the tent.

I would imagine the rails on an rvr would be much the same because if you threw on a few timber sleepers or a couple of big painters ladders you’d be up around 60kg or so. Wicked campers put roof top tents on corollas with gutter mounted roof rack so surely the rvr can handle a tent.
