hey guys,

 

when you do you front bearings are you just swapping your bearings out or are you swapping out the whole hub assembly?

 

it seems my bearings are gone on both sides as I can move my wheel around a lot I don't think its normal..

I have one set of OEM mitsubishi front bearings and seals for sale.

I picked up a on hub puller from cashies a while back for around $25. Was happy about that. Its earned its keep too.
4g93t jumbuck conversion. PRANGED 18/3/12, CHECK MY MEMBER RIDES Page 11. no serious human injuries.
ON THE ENGINE STAND. g4cs 2.4l + Gt35r. PLUS: auto conversion + Awd coming.

are the ce lancer front bearings the same as the evo 4 5 6 bearings? trying to find a set online but keep seeing different things

Evo 1-9 are the same

 

so are the seals the only difference. I've got my evo 4 knuckle off and noticed its slightly different to the evo/gsr knuckle

Is your castle nut not taking the slack up properly, either bottoming out or jamming. Something else is wrong if the front wheels wobble about. That is beyond worn bearings

nut and shaft out I can move the hub left right and up and down

 

 

Are you running 5 stud setup? And later model knuckles??

I thought of that but wheel bearings would of been cheaper. but this way would be far easier haha

You need the nut and shaft in to keep the bearings tight. Or they move out of position and flop about.
That's why if you move a car about without shafts, it doesn't go far.

Rwd conversions need a dummy shaft too.

yeah cant say 100% that the nut was completely tight but from memory it was tight as I could get it. which I normally have the wheels back down by then and tighten it up with a breaker bar

ordered new hub assembly, getting to the point of putting them in soon, does anyone know if they bolts need to be torqued up or just done up with some Loctite??

 

or a workshop manual or link to one so I can find out
