DVSKIWI (Michael) here. In the process of building a fun Weekender. Here's how I got her.

 

  • 1992 Mitsubishi  Galant  VR4
  • A-spec
  • White in colour
  • 269,000kms
  • J-spec Bumpers front and back
  • EVO 3 Pistons
  • EVO 3 Intercooler
  • TD05H small 16G
  • 3" Turbo Back Exhaust
  • Walbro in Tank
  • Turbosmart e-Boost.

So at the moment she's at the workshop getting a RPM 4puck, New Master and Slave, New Radiator, KYB Excel and Low Kings put in. Had all the belts done a few weeks back, water pump and put some 17" Blacks on.

Once it's all in and running good I'll take her down the 1/4 mile and put it on the Dyno so I can get some numbers.

 

Once I know what power and times she's running, then the plan is obvious. More POWER!!!! hahahaha :D

 

Plan for the more power. (on budget)

 

  • 560cc EVO Injectors
  • TD06 20G

As for the ECU, I'm still doing some research. Spoke to a shop here in Perth and they where saying they could put a EVO 7 ECU in and do a bit of tuning, but need to go back and talk more about that road. Be nice to here of any helpful suggestions.

 

And with more power you need more braking. So still doing some research on that department too.

 

All in all things take time but we'll get there.

As for ECUs depends what your budget it, there are some great plug and play options. I went with the Haltech PS1000 with plug and play loom.

But i know VIPEC and LINK do complete board swap ins that plug into your existing harness.

As the car is an a-spec , you should check out the ecmlink system no wiring needed, just solder a socket into the ecu and plug in chip. All the tunning capability of an aftermarket system .

Hey bro, car looks pretty sweet and is only gunna get better by the sounds of things

as for ecu's theres a few fallas on here running newer evo ecu's an getting good numbers too, my 5's got around 280kw atw dual maps, launch control, all on a 7 ecu

Basically most people pick up ecu, inj, and afm for cheap (under $400) and all it requires is getting the 4th plug for obd, some re pinning grafting a afm plug an maybe a knock sensor to get it going

as for haltech, vipec etc, I cant comment, only heard good things tho

Got a haltech ps1000 plug in play in mine I love it so simple to setup but u pay 2 grand for the setup thats the only thing. Nice car bud keep us updated 😆

Being an a-spec, it will have twin caliper brakes on the front.

Got the old girl back on Friday after get some new gear put in.

 

  • Clutch
  • Recon Slave and Master
  • Radiator
  • Suspension

 

Running dope as, handles great. Just not happy with the height.

So Lovells Superlows are on there way from over east.

Hey Wade, I did the loan Ranger on the drags hahaha Driving down the Roe on the way home

and never turned off and keep going and found myself at the Motorplex. Not sure how that happened hahaha.

Took the grill off to put in some new blubs and never got round to putting it back on. Was going to get one

of the chrome style ones of Shane but I haven't had a text back, hmmmmmm better check I got the right number hahaha.

How long till your old girl is out west??
