DONATIONS FOR GEORGE (DOUGMO)
Some say he once threw a handful of thumb-tacks out the window to gain a competitive advantage.... all we know is that he's called, "GEORGE".
George (aka DOUGMO) first introduced us to his black EVO II back in 2006 where it resembled not much more than an unmodified car purchased for the sole purpose to compete in hillclimbs and track events. Little did we know at the time, nor did he for that matter, that George was about to embark on one of the greatest, most inspirational builds many of us in the Mitsubishi Community have ever seen.
Those that have been around for a while know him as the mild mannered and fun guy whom is always willing to impart his knowledge and help others out. I'm sure many of us were also happy to snap up some spare parts from him over the years too lol. But the most notable quality about George is his 'can do' attitude and commitment to his project, the forum and his family.
Since 2006, George has led us through each step of his build - every modification, every setback, what he was thinking, why he decided to take a particular direction, and pictures of parts he's fitted to the car that turned many of us green with envy. But you know what? George is living the dream that most of us could only dream about. That's right, George is building a competitive car to race in the World Time Attack Challenge in Sydney!!!
We've watched George's build come to a climax in preparation for this year's World Time Attack Challenge. It was exciting for those whom have followed the journey to finally hear the car kick back to life again and head out for a practice run recently. Unfortunately, George's gearbox has failed and its jeopardised his chances to compete this year
