If you think you can use it, maybe see if JayRome is feeling the love and get it sent to him to weld up then sent up to you. The throttle plate is to suit SR20 tb.

MC Motorsport Sprintkhana was on Monday. Disappointing for the organisers with only about 16 cars, but still a great event with the usual diehards going nuts for it. 15 timed stages ranging from a 400m slalom (stupid fucking X turning circle) to an all out power 6km sprint. Car is good, 3port BCS and a tune from AllStar seems to have smoothed out the boost spikes and surging, and tuned down to 19.5/20psi ready for Targa.

One of the videos starts while I'm waiting for a run so you can get an eyeful of Bruce's gazillion horsepower Nissan. Lucky he did lots of wrong ways!

So few people showed up, we even placed in equal 2nd.

#316515 Daily runner bolt ons...What next?

Posted by Geo&Kez on 23 April 2015 - 02:00 PM

Its a street car George....you need to remember this!

Yeah I know Jamo, just having one of those regret moments. His street car is probably 400kg lighter than my race car and I still need to carry three passengers to meet minimum weight for showroom. I miss my GSR. :-(

Far out that looks awesome. Ive always wanted to re-carpet the car but never thought to look on ebay for it lol. Has anyone added weight under it as well? Does anyone even bother with adding weight these days?

I fixed up you're post for you mate........

#316315 Best ways to run in a fresh forged engine

Posted by Geo&Kez on 20 April 2015 - 01:40 AM

Don't let it idle too long, don't run it rich, use a good quality mineral oil (not synthetic) and a good oil filter for the first few hundred then go the good oil. Once you know it's not leaking fluids or air, get on boost occasionally (it's not made of glass!). After you drop the the run in oil, drive it as you like. Good idea to disassemble your first couple of oil filters to see what's getting trapped.

Yes Jack, it's all fucked. Don't sound so surprised. You can label the government and their media spin doctors very quickly..... "Fucking hypocrite c$nts".

You see how nissans keep people out of evos, they chew up all your money and time, you lose all interest in cars and start playing squash.

You see, the good thing about this forum is that when you say "Who Knows.....", plenty of people actually know shit. Good info.

Sponsors need some reason to be on your car Jack, most often it's TV coverage. Take the Targa West for example, the top 4-5 runners in each main category got good exposure. The other 50 odd competitors got diddlysquat. Everybody in the main categories pays the same amount to be there, but unless your a top runner, or score a mention for having spent $50,000 to have shown up to ten in a row, there is little to no TV exposure for your sponsors. If I was going to chuck money at a car to have my name on it, it would only be at the top 5 or a naming rights partner.

Enginr is right, and the old saying of how fast can you afford to go rings true. I run 050's, and I manage them like they are cute little ducklings strapped to my rims, to make sure they last for the budgeted period. I cant afford to chew them up looking for every tenth on every corner, and if your doing that, then not competing on a level field. It's very difficult to stay enthusiastic when you know you don't have the money to be competitive, regardless of how hard you try to convince yourself otherwise. There's no TV time for the guy that put's his hand up a say's 'I made my tires last the whole event', or 'I've managed my car so well I haven't had a mechanical failure for two years'. Sadly, no one gives a shit.

I don't know where George is at, but I know I don't come home from a suit job and toil away in the garage on engines and cars because I like standing back and looking at how pretty they are, I do it so I can race the fucking things. I will not enjoy the day when the hard decision must be made between the hungry mouths of kin and the burning desire to track cars.
