Thanks guys, im located im Melboune Doncaster area.

Last dyno it pushed 180kw ATW at 15 psi. Since then its has been fitted with a few little goodies, so it might read a little more next time round.

Any 1 know what these motors are roughly capable of Kw / Hp wise, before any bottom end work is needed.

Mine was making 229kw on 18psi with the stock bottom end. A few other people have been making more than that with 20psi+ boost.

What have you fitted since the dyno run?

With a 16g and a stock motor, you should push into the 200kw mark at the front wheels quite easily.

I've seen about 4 cars with that spec making from 190-210kw's at four wheels with aftermarket ecu's @ springy motors.

My car has produced more than 200kw's and I hope to be pushing 250kw's plus in the coming months with a standard bottom end. As far as i'm aware, the VR-4 engine has meaty rods compared to that of early model Evo's and the 4G93T. I would definately start looking at forged pistons at over 200kw's, but your bottom end should easily withstand punishment well in excess of that if properly maintained.

Welcome to Team4g, it's nice to have another cordia on board!;)

The head was ported and polished, NGK-R plugs were fitted plus it was detonating high up in its rev range so that standard cordia fuel pump was replaced for a vl turbo item.

That second pic confuses me.
Have you put this all back together yet?
The flywheel doesn't have a step on it to mount the pressure plate? I thought you had to have that step there?
That one looks like it has had it completely machined off!
Did your clutch driven plate fit in ok?
Wow, your exhaust ports are nice and straight cut/smooth.
Did you clean them up as well?
The ones on my motor are all raggedy.
Looks nice with the new manifold cover, or did you just paint your old one?

Nice work. ;)

The pics are not in exact order but are close so don’t let this confuse you.

Yes the motors back in and running.

The flywheel is fine it is a Cordia item, they do not have the as you call it "step there" like the Galant flywheels do and yes the p-plate fit fine and the car drives as it should.

"your exhaust ports are nice and straight cut/smooth" firstly this could be because they are my intake ports and secondly maybe because the head has been ported and polished but I can’t tell you for sure as I haven’t paid attention to the ports on a standard vr4 head.

I haven’t cleaned the head nor did I do the port job. All I know is that the block and head have quite low k’s so It’s pretty spotless inside.

When I first got the car it didn’t have an exhaust shield on there, so I sourced 1 down and decided to polish it up. Shortly after this the shield decided to rust so I opted painting the dam thing.

Thanks for the replies, keep them coming lol

Update!!!!

Got a Selby’s swaybar in March and a set of king springs to help with handling will be looking at coilovers in the future.

I’m on holidays from study as of the start of this week so I thought id make use of my time rather than sitting on the pc playing cod for 2 weeks lol. So out came the motor on Monday. List of things I will be doing are:

- Replacing the Timing and Balance shaft belt with Gates Racing items due to maintenance.

- Replacing thrust bearing because recently my 6 month old thrust bearing has been making a crunch sound every few seconds when the clutch pedal is released in neutral.

-Replacing Gearbox due to the current gearbox crunching second when cold for the past 3 weeks.

- Recently I began the port job on my spare turbo exhaust housing which will be fitted to my current turbo in my path to eliminate the Boost creep, which has really proven to be a pain since the fitment of the 3 inch exhaust.
This is what it looks like after a days work. I have been focusing heavily on the path leading towards the wastegate hole trying to make the turn less abrupt. I will post progress pics.

- New top engine mount will be made to sit the motor lower.

-Engine bay will be sprayed the colour of the car because I didn’t have enough time to do it last time the motor was out.

Ill keep you guys updated with new pics as I get things done.
