This is what it looks like....:

im going to have to do something about the holes on top but, not sure what to do in that respect - alloy panels screwed in? or just plastic mould and bog? dunno....

As all the body mods iare now complete, i think its time for some performance mods!! will update this soon....

Well it's about time i got my arse into gear in the engine mod side of things.......... :D

car is finally booked in next week to get the turbo, manifold, cooler and fuel pump, custom I/C piping, custom dump & front pipe installed! yay!

i dont think ill get a chance to get it dynoed B4 this happens to see what its producing now....... it would probably be around the 100-110kw atw mark anyways wouldnt it? anyone have any idea what these new mods will improve that figure to roundabouts??

After this, it will be time for an Autronic ECU, some Evo injectors, higher boost and 12 demerit points of NEW licence to lose................

cant wait for the next cruise!

OK.....................................

shes back........ :D :D :D

not really much of a performance increase.... but I think that may be due to management issues, soon to be rectified

as some of you already know........ its 4G63 time for me :?

this is what i plan on doing at this stage -

Jspec VR4 4G63
stock internals
GT pumps E3 ex. manifold
TD05big16g/small16g hybrid turbo (on my 4g93 now)
E6 cooler (on car already)
new alloy I/C piping
walbro fuel pump(in car already)
550 or 650cc injectors
Sard FPR
Fidanza flywheel
Autronic SMC or SM2 computer

and later on
some more aggressive cams, adj. cam gears
ECI multi manifold

you fellas who have been through this process already, have you got any suggestions/advice parts/setup-wise on which stuff to go for, or even problems that could be avoided...?

cheers,

update!

My 4G63 has received a nice and time-consuming clean-up.....

intake mani, thermostat housing, fuel rail and some other nic nacs are off getting bead blasted as i speak...

block has been cleaned and re-finished in a hi-temp gloss black, while all water fittings have been re-finished in a hi-temp matt metallic charcoal.

Everything else has been steam cleaned, and its all come together looking pretty nice! 8)

Posted Image

only thing is, the T/B housing, i couldnt get the assembly apart - anyone done this b4? if i cant do it ill just end up painting it in an alloy finish to match the raw bead blasted bits.

Will be ordering a timing belt kit, new water pump, Balance shaft removal kit, new gaskets in the next week or so. also some stainless exhaust mani studs, and stainless turbo studs
I also need a flywheel and a new clutch......

Barry you dont by any chance still have a shaved rocker cover lying around? :)

if anyone is free at any stage in the upcoming weeks and wants to help me out putting this thing back together give me a PM -

got my bits n pieces back from the bead-blasters........

Posted Image
Posted Image

came up noice and clean........... Im thinking of getting all the hose fittings/ some brackets re-zinc'd as well.

If anybody is interested in getting stuff done let me know, the guys who did it for me were very reasonably priced and had a quick turnaround.

on another note, is there supposed to be carbon deposition occuring in the intake side of the head? I dont think so....... just wondering.
Does that mean valve issues?

nearly there. Ordered some EVO9 560cc injectors today, will be picking up a new clutch on tuesday (and some new manifold studs  )

so hopefully the engine will be going in at some stage late next week.

I just hope shit like the alternator and starter motor are still in working order....... :(

A brief update!

Car got trailered to workshop, along with engine, so the 4G63 should be in there by the end of next week. Then its back on a trailer to Beninca Motors to get the SM4 put in and tuned, then its back on a trailer to the roadworthy mechanic, then to SHITROADS  to get the defect cleared , then back to original workshop to get sprayed. So hopefully it will be ready by the 27th, It might be a long shot though :?

will get some pics up early next week.

Cheers

all is coming along nicely

we started removing bits and pieces on tuesday, engine came out yesterday, and then more shite came out today, along with the bay copping a good clean........

tomorrow the bay gets sprayed and we start work on the 4G63. At this stage, the motor should be in by mid next week. Then it has to go to get the ECU put in and tuned.

Looks pretty sad now :(

well.....

Engine bay is painted. Gearbox and transfer get transfered to the 4G63 tomorrow, and will most likely cop a good clean.

Quite a frustrating expereince really, but fun nonetheless. Its all the little bullshit parts that get to you pissed off the most.

Well, I hate to say it, but

the engine still aint in!

Ive been waiting for engine mount bushes, and finally I have them thanks to Jeff and the boys down at Techsport. Full set of ralliart ones :D

anyway, come the end of this week and the car *SHOULD* be at the fabricators getting some nice new alloy cooler piping, new dump & down pipes and CAI made.......................

after that is done its on to Beninca motors for some Autronic treatment,

mind you, I still havent got the defect notice cleared! :P

slolwy as she goes....... 8)

Well, the engine is in........... finally

I need to get a custom P/S hose made tomorrow.
Then everything is all set to go to the Fabricator for some alloy I/C and Intake pipes, and new S/S dump and front pipe.

An ARC airbox and heatshield are on their way from Japland :) .

got the car back from TRIKFAB on saturday.

Piping is awsesome, the dump pipe and front pipe are works of art i must say!

Im just in the process of ordering a new fuel system, SPAL cooling fan, a new rocker cover with larger fittings, some leads, and then its off to get an AUTRONIC SM4 (I changed my mind again  ).

I also am going to change the engine mount over from the VR4 one to an EVO one, and get rid of that ugly L shape bracket. (as soon as someone tells me how to remount the PS pump bracket once that part of the engine mount has come off.) 8)

UPDATE

its about god DAMN time I say

Fuel system arrived along with a SPAL slimline fan for cooling duties on tuesday after a lot of mucking around with CUSTOMS (FUCKERS).......

All installed now apart from the SX filter and braided line to the pump.

Got some 16" ozzies a while back which are getting sent off early next week to be powdercoated in satin black, and then copping some new Hankook tires later on next week.

CREATD motorsports are in the middle of a big move to HOT new premises (so i am eagerly told), so the car will be going there as soon as there back doing smooth business to get a motec installed and tuned..................................

will be going very soon...... :D :D :D

still have to
- get a new rocker cover with bigger breathers and AN fittings
- get inner guard linings
- get slotted brake rotors all round
- get some good brake pads
- purchase Tein Super street coilovers
- get a bolt in roll cage
- pick up a bare E1 front cut from JSTYLE (changind rad supports and installing strut tower and firewall bracing
- Get a new E3 Bonnet
- hurry the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurk up 8)

Still waiting on a remote mount oil filter setup from Rob  , some 264/272 cams and lots of other bits which im sure ive forgotten.

still have to change over to the EVO engine mount too which im not looking forward to doing :?

Im tipping my gearbox will need a rebuild very shortly too.

its about god damn time

nothings been happening. Nothing. Car was supposed to go to CREATD last week, until the Mofos at TOLL IPEC decided to LOSE the E3 bonnet i had freighted over from adelaide. How in hell you manage to LOSE a bonnet is beyond me but anyway.

turns out they found it, sitting at the back of one of their warehouses  never mind - just another month down the toilet.

ANYWAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

bonnet should be here by this arvo - fingers crossed.

Ive bought some EVO 2 door trims, my wheels have been refinished and re-clad in some Hankook Z212s 215/45r16

I still need to get a few things off people like erm.............. roll cage, cams, cam gears..... etc etc. For those people just keep busting my chops so i dont forget.

If all goes well the car should be at creatd early next week.
