Do you have a gauge to measure the oil pressure from the housing vs the pressure from the head?

It would be good to get some numbers (real life example).

My understanding is that GT turbos should follow the below rules:

1. pressure for GT turbos should be at idle (no load)  10psi

2  pressure for GT turbos should be at peak torque 30psi min to between 40psi - 45psi max oil pressure

Oil temp to not exceed 150deg c

Would be good to know what you had when you were blowing oil at idle.  Maybe get a gauge on the feed just to read the pressure.

Then get a read at the head also.

True. And would also be interesting to see the difference, as I have ported my oil filter housing. Will see what I can rig up thru the week

Hey Baz. As we discussed earlier, if I was pushing oil past the seals in turbo, should I replace them? I ask cos my chinesey manifold has cracked, it's all out atm.

Might have a chat with the loco turbo guy, see what he says. Getting a new mani built, if I didn't have rego, I'd do a twist mount as it's a half size rad...

The seals usually can take it if heat was minimal and oil was clean.

The concerns are scuffing or coking of oil which may damage that area.

I've always been ok with my oil/turbo issues.

I'm actually experiencing one now in fact. My solution is probably going to be drain related. Either a scavenger pump or crank case vacuum pump to solve the problem.
