And then i decided to pull the dip stick out of my 1997 2.4L nimbus and its the same size tube and stick as the vr4 4g63.

I give up!

Can anyone tell me whatthe part number the oil pick ups from the gvr4 are and ill try and cross reference with the hyundai.

This is doing my head in big time.

Im trying to avoid the process of pulling the sump and seeing how far each stick goes into the sump.

You would have to think the oil level isnt suppose to go past where the sump bolts to the block!?!

Ok so moroso oil pan holds 5.9L of oil but i only put 5.0L in and this is what i found.

The oil level on the 63 stick and tube is showing on the low line of the dip stick which would make sense since the pan is suppose to hold another 900ml (5.9L)

When you insert the gc4s 2.4L tube and stick it reckons its full or just over plus the oil smears all over the stick like its too long or something.

63 2.0L stick and tube

So mo and i reckon the sump profiles are different. Can you confirm the jack as you have a gc4s?

Not for another 10 days or so. I figured they would have to be different to accomodate the bigger throw crank. And if a 2.0 sump needs clearancing on a 2.4 then it would make sense the factory would design a different sump. And so therefore prolly a different pickup too.

Im no help on early ones but on late 4-9 4g64s you use the 63 tube and dipstick. The location is same on both blocks and the dipstick suits the sump.

No way does my g4cs tube sit against the radiator like that. Both my cs and cp tubes sit near the steering pump- like your 2.0 tube.

Hi Wade,

Any chance you could measure the g4cs and the 4g63 tube length?

Thanks mate
