Hi all, I'm thinking of travelling the arduous journey to Willowbank to set a performance baseline for the new (stock) HSG. Just wondering if anyone will be about the place this Sat for a catch up?

 

It also gives me a chance to drop some parts off.........2 birds kinda thing

We did go. And some of us raced. There was some confusion though. When we arrived they told us there was no test and tune and it was in fact street series or something despite reading on their website that it was a tnt night.

Well, I'll say one thing about my experience...........room to grow but overall impressed.

 

I bought this thing less than 2 weeks ago for 2k, it is  bone stock  save for a really poorly crushed 3" and a supercheap auto pod filter.  

 

Stock boost.

 

I ran a 15.41 @ 92.42 with 2,3 sec 60ft on the first run and 14.98 @ 92.3 with 2.1 60ft on the second.  Not overly great, but  I missed 2nd gear on the first run, then missed third on the 2nd run.

 

I let the car down with driver error, but even best case I think I would have only run a few tenths quicker with a couple more MPH.

 

For just over 2k and a bit of elbow grease I'm chalking this up for what it is.............a good start point and a fun night with some of the guys

 

 

Also to add, I was fortunate enough to have no mechanical issues, some of the others were not as fortunate which was a bit of a bummer, but that's how it goes I suppose.

hmm i check the website and it's didn't show a tnt on the 5th. thats why i didn't come out.

Good one benzo.
See how the mph doesnt change much. Mph is based on hp, weight and drag. Unless you change one of them it wont change much. Its great to see if mods are working, but a single gear pull with a accellerometer is better.

Et is how well you use the hp you have.

60' is all about the launch. A interesting rule of thumb it that 1/10th off the 60ft is 2/10th off the et.

will be interesting to compare times and mph between 2 same cars in auto and manual. Tha auto should be lower et and less mph, the manual higher et and more mph.

It looks like a mid 14 if you got a good launch and run in benzo. Nice for 2k...

It was a bit of fun. Shame they changed the TNT though....
Benny's bus will be much better with a mandrel exhaust to free it up, I'm sure the 25g will help too, he he he.
I have a bad clutch at the moment, only started playing g up on the drive down... Even with 5000rpm I ended with a near 3 second 60ft time and had slippage in 3rd and 4th gear.
Will revisit when clutch has been changed out i think....
