Why is it called an exhaust sensor?

Looks like what penny posted.

Ok, that housing is not a evo4-5-6 exhaust either. And I dont think a evo9 housing is correct either. But the sensor itself in the side is normal looking, but Im not sure of the plug compatability. I have one of those housings and it has a sensor from a sohc v6 fitted.

These were available in the states as well, on a 3g. As that is how I got mine.

I don't have any pics on hand...but the cam sensor you are looking for can be found on 97-99 turbo DSMs. The parts can be found/purchased readily enough...but the pigtail/harness that connects to it can be a pain to find. The EvoIX has the same cam sensor plug, however. All of the needed mounting points can be found on the EvoIII head...you just have to drill/tap the end of the intake cam so you can bolt-up the trigger wheel.Road Race Engineering has some decent info on the subject, including OEM part numbers here:
http://www.roadracee....waptechtip.htm
Hope that helps!

If the connectors/terminals/seals are needed for the 97-99 style cam sensor, I have a few on hand. I think they are used on some bikes as well, since Eastern Beaver stocks them too. That'd probably be easier to get for you since they are in Japan.

So, either get the evo9 cam sensor, or the one listed on the rre site (they say the whole setup can be got for $100 or so.

Or get the cheap 4-6 sensor and swap in the plug to your loom.

And dont forget the crank sensor is as I posted in 1st post. (Forgot what the op wanted there for a minute)

While you are there, can you get the part number for the chopper wheel that triggers that cam sensor. Please.
