Hey guys,

I recently bought some incredible Nissan 350Z seats for my Datsun 260Z, expecting them to fit in the space without a problem, but finding out that it doesnt matter what i did they are just too wide to fit there anyway...

So i looked at my RVR, did a dummy test and it squeezes in perfectly :)

I started taking apart the 350z runners, but unlike my standard recaros, the runners are so entwined in that many electric gadgets i decided to put it all back together before i damaged something.

So it not as easy as taking off the runners, swapping them over with some minor metal work... And i dont want to rip into modifying the seat just in case it doesnt work.

So my idea is to make up a metal bracket that matches the old 4 holes on the RVR floor pan and also matches the new 350Z runners so i can keep the original runners in one piece.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of mod or fabrication??

Cheers, Lars

Holy fucksicles man!!! I have been wanting to do this as well! My Recaros are a bit soft and would love something a bit newer looking to modernize the inside.

Let me know how you go as these looks mint!

Hey man, I did something similiar to my 1984 supra, was a massive pita with the hole heights/ mounting angles being so different, also seats sat too high (you might not have the same problem being a higher car) but then ya also have the legality issues, being a safety issue

I agree with the above 2 posts evo recaros all day every day,
unless ya go a fixed back, lol

Hmmm... Decisions decisions...

I might get a quote on someone to do it professionally that way i can get it engineered without issues. Id hate to have to sell those seats.

If anyone has the qualifications in SE QLD then feel to hit me up

I put wrx seats in my jumbuck.
Just put them in and have a good look at what lines up and what doesnt. Ended up I cut the feet off the jumbuck rails and welded them to the wrx seats. I had to raise the back to get some recliner options. And had to offset the feet to align the seat side to side.
I kept the wrx seatbelt buckles and put the male part on the belt webbing.

Time consuming but doable.
Check that the seat will be low enough when finished as all that electric stuff adds height to the base
