Hey guys ..

I have got a 4G93 SOHC 1.8, and for some reason the problem seem as if 2 cylinder’s not firing or no combustion, car idle very low,  Buck,Buck Buck, when trying to rev

We checked everything as follows

We replaced cylinder head Gasket

Checked compression in all four cylinder’s and they read out good

Replaced ECU

Injectors are working and providing fuel, 12v & ECU signal is Present on all four injectors

But only 2 seems to be responding if we unplug while the engine is running , the other 2 shows no changes during idle..

Checked Continuity back too ECU OK

Double checked engine Timing, and it’s on point …

Any ideas guys ??

Have you checked your coils? Getting spark at all four? Throw you trimming light on all four leads and check that it triggers.

Sounds like dead coil or something.
Pull leads off and just place them back on plugs. Idle engine and lift leads one at a time (insulated pliers) to see what cylinder makes no difference.
Swap dead cylinders plug to a good one and retest. If no change,
Swap leads 1-4 or 2-3 and recheck. If no change.
Swap coil packs. If no change.
Change ignitor. If no change.
Change ecu. If no change...
Um...

Sohc work off a distributer, have you checked to see if your getting spark from every ignition lead?

If you are getting spark, then its fuel related and would say its the injector plug, or 1 of your injector wires have came off/snapped

So its only got one coil? What sort of backward shit is that...
I dont know then. Not without seeing it.

But its got a ecu.
The proton was similar with ecu and a thing that looked like a dizzy, but it was a cam sensor with 2 coils on the top.
Id still swap 1-4 and/or 2-3. Maybe crossed leads or some thing

Is there 2 coils under the cap? There must be.
There wont be a rotor as there is no centre lug on cap.

So where's the spark being generated? Does that thing on the side supply spark to the centre of the rotor? Coil is under that then?

Well there you go. I have been enlightened.
Swap plugs and leads around to isolate the problem. Replace the bits. Nothing hard here.

Thanks guys

been off the grid for a while

finally we did solve the problem by taking a wild shot of replacing the injectors and all was well, after

on inspecting the defective injectors we notice they were cloged with residue of a rusting gas tank

the fine strains of particle managed to by pass the intank pump filter and after a perioid of time cloged

the injectors .. they couldn't keep up with fuel delivery

did a fuel tank repair also replaced pump and flush the fuel lines..

Thanks for the support guys
