hey guys

so i have always wanted an Evo and i like the shape of the early models so i found my self a Lan Evo =]
Here are a few pics

2013-07-13 20.15.32.png .
2013-07-13 20.16.38.png .
2013-07-13 20.16.44.png .

Those chrome wheels were horrible so i have sold them off ha!
The motor had a stuck No.1 rod bearing so im in the process of rebuilding the engine,
I'm not sure if i want to go full forged 2.3L or Evo 9 pistons 6 bolt rods 2L
The Kit it fibreglass and the front bar is a bit ratsh!t, i would rather an Evo 1-2 front bar.
It has Twin pot 262mm brakes, i will be getting the caliper braket from an 06+ outlander and getting some 294mm slotted rotors soon.
full 3" exhaust with a fully sick cannon out the back which i will be changing for something less hektik.
Haltech E6A ecu which i have rewired because it was a terrible birds nest..
Surge tank with a bosch 070/ VL turbo pump which i want to get rid of and run a high LPH intank pump.
GCG turbo T3/T4 style .63 rear .70 front.
I've just got a new LSD rear diff center which im in the process of putting in.

there will be lots more to do

what do you guys think?

I got rid of that tiny little wing that was on the car and brought an Evo 2 wing

I might take the top half off an just have the base as a lip cause I like that look.

Yea. Looks sweet as. Nice colour too

You are going to have to think harder about your Frankenstein engine tho.
The 6 bolt rods will need trimming to fit your 7 bolt crank (then they will be the same b/e as the 7 bolt rods anyway) but the small end is different so the evo 9 pistons will not go on a 6 bolt rod.

You could just go evo9 rods and pistons tho.

EVO-00X - yea i do know its not, vin number says so and the homo fiber glass body kit.

Its had a full body re-spray inside and out in this nice metallic blue although the roof seems to be forming some rust =[

jack of all - yes i know all of this i was going to get this kit http://www.thedsmgra...kevo9frank7.htm
or the evo 9 rod combo http://www.thedsmgra...tockevo9prc.htm
Or if i was going to go to 100mm stroker i would just get this Manley forged http://www.thedsmgra...Code=GM-96-1020

EVL20T - I have both haha!

I have the 4g63 w/o oil squirters 7 bolt block(does that mean its a N/A block?) with head Evo 1 head.

and a VR4 4g63 6 bolt Big port, 2.0 cast onto the head.

EVL20T - the 7 bolt engine was in the car.
That maybe what it is then.

What may be the cause of the rod bearing seizing?

Ive sent the engine to my engine builder and i will be ordering a Manley forged rotating assembly when the 'murican dollar comes up some more soon.

Manley 85.5 forged pistons 9.0:1
Manley forged I beam rods w/ ARp 2000's
Manley forged 100mm crank
ACL bearings
All for a low price of 1389US
thats pretty good right?

I got my bits from realstreetperformance.
Also you must split your shipment and send in less than $1kau including post or you are going to pay gst. I split my shipments by a week and got through fine.

You may as well get the arp head bolts and gasket kit too. What about your oil pump?

Spun big end usually from oil starvation, maybe bad bearing crush.

realstreet dont seem to have a full rotating assembly kit and would cost me more thru them.

So i decided to remove the surge tank and external fuel pump and bright RED lines since it seemed to be not the greatest install and i would need to get yet another mod plate for it when i re-rego it. i will be ordering a Aeromotive 340 pump soon to go intank. i also found that the return line to the tank had a split in it and had been spilling as there was gunk all around the area. Replumbed up the fuel lines and put a new piece of return line to the tank.

I also took the diff out to put the new LSD center in.
