Thought I might share some photos on my solution to the dreaded brake knock off that surfaces when pushing VR4s hard thru hairpin corners..Having the brake pedal hit the floor can be a bit disconcerting to say the least .

Ralliart used to do GroupA VR4 "Green" knuckles, but these are a bit difficult to find these days ( or are still on rally VR4s and NOT for sale). While they are a bit stronger than standard knuckles, and have modified steering arms, whats the alternative ? A bit of fiddling on the lathe came up with these. And they were put to the test in competition last week and no more puming the brake pedal to get some brake action !

what happens here?
does the bearing outer move inside the knuckle when turning hard? how tight do you tighten the retaining ring?

nice work too.

The bearing flexes the retaining circlip and consequently moves apart a few thou... resulting in the brake rotor pushing the brake caliper pistons in . Subsequently, the brake pedal has to pump the pistons out to maintain pressure. The retaining ring is tightened "Fn tight"
