My manual 97 HSG is singing to me on drive and making some horrible noises on over run with the offender being the transfer case.

Will an EVO 3 unit provide the correct ratio and interchange with the HSG unit?

I am trying to decide on overhaul or replace but the noise is making me think seriously about replacing as the gears are probably damaged.

Thanks

Are you shore it's the transfer case and not a clutch plate problem,

They will make a noise like the gearbox is ratshit or in your case the transfer case,,

Give Chris Meek a ring at Meek Automotive 0297691586 and discribe your problem..

I have now found the noise, the singing noise is coming from the transfer case but the noise on over run is the rear diff.

I'm not too worried about the transfer yet but the diff will need to be fixed.

Can I use a plate rear diff out of an Evo 3 as I have access to one.

I believe that ratio is for auto RVR.

Manual ratio is 3.545

I realize that US offers slightly different wagons, but all of our rear ends have 3.545:1 ratios (same as 5 speed DSMs and Galants VR4).

Our bigger issue is that wagon rear end has different mounting provisions and we can't get LSD axle :(.

My RVR Manual transmission (turbo) is a 3.909.

hello from USA.  I am considering purchasing from EBAY USA. An imported RVR 4D68T with AWD transmission and transfer case.  I I need to know if it can be compatible with a USa eclipse 3.545 rear differential.   Is the determining factor the transfer case or the actual transmission? Which is the determining factor?  Thank you.

Here is the ebay Item.

Thank you everyone. I dont know how that happened to the link.  evo-gsr has mentioned that I will probably not find info on Diesel RVR in this forum.
