If I didn't already have a dogbox setup in my vr4. I would go auto with paddle shifts. But.... Unfortunately to go auto now means lots of changes in the setup including rear diff ratio, transfer case, cams shafts, mounts, trans cooler, fan, shifters etc.

Bit yes, I would recommend it.

So I found some time to get the roof trim clips installed. Note to others. Don't expose these clips to the sun. They will break down as per photo below.

Also replaced the rubber trim below the windscreen.

And rear roof interior trim at the rear.

Thanks you 1989 Jspec silver donor car for the race car for the plastic trims..

Today I relocated the o2 sensor forward of the exhaust. I had to recalibrate the sensor and though the rear position may have been on a bad angle or collecting water from condensation...

The sensor was out or calibration so out it went.

After calibrating, the readings were still playing up.

Sensor faulty is now the code I get....
So much for recalibration to fix it..

Time to order another ntk sensor from the America.

Poor thing hasn't been started for about 1 months I reckon... Since I got the Lexus GS300 as a daily.

Front wheels were also removed to get some new rubber.

Something lower profile that the 225 50 17s. Probably 225 45 17 or 215?

Mich pilots is what I have been recommended... Thoughts?.

Thanks for the compliment.
The Galant's do look good sometimes... Not all the time, but this shot does frame it well..

So after the recalibration, the sensor has come up with an error.

Time to order some sensors with some spares.

Tyres mounted but not Reinstalled onto the car yet. Will probably get into the paddle shifter mod and finish off the sound system install soon.

So, the AMG is getting some love in the garage.

So far, ntk wide band o2 sensor has been replaced.
The last one later 1 year.
Not long at all....

Apart from that it looks good overall. 42053f3c530860d1deb1d390894e9f7d.jpg83c822a57f5f2078c136426424b8ecb7.jpg

OK, so battery now fully charged.
Front wheels changed back to the work wheels with new Michelin pilots. Slightly smaller in size than prior as it was rubbing now and then.

225 40 17s
Previously 225 50 17

Also, I inspected the active exhaust and replaced some of the restricted fittings which reduce vac to the actuator. The idea is with a restriction, you get a smooth valve closure of the active exhaust. But in my case, I get a small rattle so hopefully by allowing it to close faster will eliminate the noise.

Also decided to do some bush upgrades while at it.

How does this active exhaust work baz? Is it a vacuum actuator on the tailpipe like the hsv use?

My varex rattles too. The teeth on the gears are loose, the butterfly bangs up and down as well.
Radial and axial freeplay.
Badly built, and to rebuild it, will need to cut it up!

Bushes for the panhard rod done.
The 1g dsm ones don't fit. Galants are bigger. I needed to use the Galant gsr spec ones.

Also some photos of the exhaust and active exhaust setup.

It is a closed loop setup that monitors exhaust back pressure which varies the valve movement in the exhaust. 9d4650dffadec6138969d7221515631b.jpg8354fe1006faedb71518119ed9421331.jpgb40beea89daa5d2fc063217b497298c7.jpgc45f5f4d294db499b47e52d1154fbdd1.jpg6c370eb943bf43cda17b24bbab9b79ea.jpg34bc4f0096e49dc9726265deedec18c3.jpg28e8cb4b35373a2da458c2c31470d89e.jpg7c7466fc34c77ecfe481b9dc81a64221.jpg984376a430d4a9a0f1ebc6bc72f585d2.jpg
