now the question is, when the balance shafts are removed, that will increase the oil pressure...

so when coupled with a high volume oil pump, what would happen?

would the pressure be too much?
would it start leaking oi from seals because of excessive oil pressure?


or is this whole "high volume" thing a hoax?

yes when the balance shafts are removed, the oil pressure does rise but not enough to really care as much...

if you have a new engine and seals etc, there should be no leaking of any point from the increase of pressure.
the engine should handle an easy 100psi worth of oil pressure before it will start forcing oil out of seals..

some people do port the press reg when they delete balance shafts, but in stock form the extra pressure wont hurt

NA engines have 2 points on the engine at which the oil pressure is regulated, on the head and at the oil pump housing
Turbo engine have the pressure regulator on the oil pump housing only..

our engines dont really need high volume pumps, the stock pump is more then plenty to feed even a massive turbo attached to the engine.. (so long as tolerances in the pump are still tight)

For a 4g63 yes. We don't have problems with oil flow on stock motors, then you rebuild them and block off balance shaft bearings and sometimes remove piston oil jets which increases pressure beyond whats needed.
The stock pump works fine for most as long as you're not pulling big enough G-forces to uncover the pickup and suck air. If anything you could get a lower volume pump which would still provide enough oil yet rob less power and leave more oil in the pan where it should be instead of getting blasted into the head where it has a hard time returning fast enough. This is why porting the bypass valve in the oil filter housing is important, excess oil is pumped out of the oil circuit and straight back into the pan, if you don't do this you will get oil pressure creep at high rpm.

Port the oil filter housing where the piston and spring lives. Elongate the hole on the piston top side only. You don't need much. Do a bit at a time and obtain the target pressure for your setup.

I got a shit memory but I think it the jafro mobile one also shows how to check the tolerances for the gears, was a good vid if its the one I'm thinking
