Amen to that!.

So an update and as per usually more broken stuff.

So went to the dyno after i thought it was good to go and the car wouldnt play ball. We thought it was a spark issue but werent sure as it was 1230am we had enough after it would splutter coming on boost and only make 220kw at the wheels. The car had made 300kw previously.

So limp the car home and it was fine aslong as i didnt get on it so i intially thought the coils were fine.

Leave it in the shed for a week all pissed off wondering wtf is up with this heap.

Then the penny drops! I was running a cdi when it made 300 but when the cdi kept blowing up i was told to try a idi, so swaped it over thinking this will be it, nut!

I was running cdi coils with a idi that just does not work apparently.

So i said fuck it lets just simplify it. On went the LS2 coils driven by the ecu and in the bin went the cdi/idi.

Cheers baz but im not done yet!

So we go back to the dyno after new coils are installed thinking right 25-30 pound here we come.

Car sound really good and clean but we cant get it to go over 20psi. It makes 300kw again at the wheels which dont get me wrong is great for 98 octane but it just left me disappointed!
We tried to advance the timing by another 2 degrees but it went backwards and at the end of that run it cracked the power steer hard line that feeds the pump, the speed flow line was just too rigid so much so when we hit the limiter at 8700 it shook the motor and cracked the line. When we turned it off to see where the oil was coming from we seen that it was the power steer line and noticed it through a rib off the alternator belt.

We all agreed that you dont need power steer for the dyno and we cut the belt to stop the pump running, also that 3 ribs would be enough to turn the water pump and alternator so we could sort the cruise out for 5th gear on the dyno.

Ok sweet here we go, nut!

Started it up only to hear a cluck cluck cluck noise " quick shut it off"!

Wrong bolts from original build holding the harmonic balancer only caused them to stretch and sheer off.

Teething problems... Get these little bits sorted and you'll be cracking 10s easy with the setup.

It had a Ross balancer on it and thats whats going back on. Skimmed the surface as it got chewed up abit. Took less than 1mm off so im hoping it doesnt throw the belt alignment out with the water pump and alternator.

Electric water pump and electric power steering pump =)

Also. The power steering line is extremely high in pressure. Speedflow do new power steering specific fittings and lines. should look into them if you haven't already
